Biography

Ali Al-Samak is an associate in Hamilton Duncan’s Civil & Commercial Litigation Group, regularly advising and representing individuals and businesses in complex litigation matters. His practice encompasses a wide range of civil and commercial disputes, with a particular focus on construction disputes and builders’ liens, business litigation and employment law and human rights matters. Ali approaches each case with a client-centered perspective, aiming to resolve disputes effectively and efficiently while safeguarding his clients’ interests.

Ali earned his law degree from Thompson Rivers University and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2021. Prior to law school, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts (honours with distinction) in Criminology from Simon Fraser University. He is fluent in Arabic and brings a strong understanding of multicultural dynamics to his practice.

Beyond his legal work, Ali is actively involved in the legal and broader community. He served as a Member at Large with the Canadian Bar Association’s Civil Litigation Section and is a member of the Canadian Muslim Lawyers Association. He also volunteers as Strategic Committee Chair for Muslim Youth in Motion and as Secretary of the Al-Kawthar Educational Society.

When not engaged in his practice or the community, Ali enjoys reading fiction, watching Canucks hockey and spending quality time with his spouse and two young sons.
