Liyan Wu

Biography

Liyan Wu is associate counsel at Hamilton Duncan. She works closely with clients to navigate the legal and practical aspects of commercial real estate, business transactions and estate planning. 

Liyan advises developers, business owners and investors on the acquisition, sale, and financing of real property across various asset classes, and supports them through every stage of a project or transaction – from the formation of limited partnerships and land assemblies to subdivision approval, development agreements, disclosure obligations and project closings. Liyan also has significant experience in commercial leasing, acting for both landlords and tenants in retail, office, industrial, and mixed-use developments. 

In her corporate practice, Liyan assists private companies with share and asset purchase transactions, corporate reorganizations, and governance matters. She also advises clients on estate planning and administration, including the preparation of trusts and estate planning documents. 

Liyan brings a thoughtful, solutions-oriented approach, offering clear and timely advice that supports her clients’ business and personal objectives. 

Outside the practice of law, Liyan enjoys reading, running and travelling with her family.
