Biography
Steven Shergill is a litigator at Hamilton Duncan who chairs our Construction Litigation group and also practices in the areas of commercial litigation and real estate litigation.
As the leader of our construction litigation team, Steven assists developers, builders, contractors, property owners and insurers in resolving contentious disputes relating to the costs, timing and quality of large and small construction projects, including disputes involving the enforcement and propriety of builders’ liens. In his commercial litigation practice, Steven assists businesses of all sizes in a wide array of contentious matters including shareholder and partnership disputes, contract claims, issues pertaining to the sale of goods, regulatory issues, commercial leasing matters and much more.
Prior to joining Hamilton Duncan, Steven practiced at a large international law firm, working principally in the areas of construction and commercial litigation, where he gained experience working on a variety of cases ranging from large, multi-million dollar infrastructure and construction disputes to complex commercial litigation matters.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Steven was the valedictorian of his law school class at Thompson Rivers University and then completed his articles with the Legal Services Division of the City of Surrey.
When not practicing law, Steven enjoys cooking, traveling the world, and learning new languages (he is already fluent in several).
