Hamilton Duncan Congratulates Brian Duncan on his Retirement

Brian-Duncan-

On December 31, 2015, Brian Duncan officially retired from Hamilton Duncan and the practice of law. Brian was one of the firm’s founding partners, a former managing partner, and one of the firm’s senior solicitors. Brian has provided legal advice to the Fraser Valley business community since the late 1970s.

Brian focused his practice on corporate and commercial law, real estate law, and the issues faced by small and medium-sized businesses and enterprises located in Surrey and the Fraser Valley. As counsel, Brian advised clients on a wide range of company law matters, including those involving partnership agreements, share ownership agreements, acquisitions and sales, amalgamations and corporate reorganizations, joint venture agreements, commercial leasing, and tax-driven transactions. He drafted and negotiated contracts and advised on the legal aspects of the daily operations of many of his client’s business activities.

Brian had particular experience acting on behalf of family-owned enterprises, ranging from counseling on general corporate matters to business succession planning. Brian was a graduate from the Sauder School of Business at UBC, Family Enterprise Advisor Program.

In addition to his work at the firm, Brian lectured on a variety of topics to groups at the Public Legal Education Society, Pacific Legal Technology Conference 2007, the Professional Legal Training Course, the Continuing Legal Education Society, and gave numerous talks to local businesses and organizations concerning issues of interest to business owners and their professional advisors.

We wish Brian Duncan the very best and thank him for his exceptional commitment and contributions to the firm.
